I was just wonder if there was any good builds for the ranger elite Quickshot ( and i dont want people saying "oh sub quickshot for a different elite"). But i am currently using quickshot with a hornbow and its ok but i was wondering what the best damage i could get with quickshot in pve is.

Good builds with quick shot? Nope, they don't exist as far as I know, because quick shot is decidedly sub-par at best when compared to other ranger elites.

The best use for quickshot is using it after another skill, due to it's quick use and no[?] aftercast. So it would be good in a turret build, especially when combined with something such as [Asuran Scan].

Something like;
[Quick Shot] --> [Sundering Attack] -- > [Quick Shot] --> [Penetrating Attack] --> [Quick Shot]

Would be pretty fun, but I don't think it would be very effective. Perhaps combine it with a zealous hornbow, and a hero with [mark of pain], whilst you take [Save Yourselves!].

I've tried to find a reason to use Quickshot, but have never found a one. Really why is this an elite anyways?

Yeah seriously, how did A-net even think this skill could compete w/any other ranger elite? You can't even compare it to many of the non-elite ranger skills because even those include some damage.

You're honestly better off w/[broad head arrow] or [barrage] so stay away from [quick shot] :/

It has 1 sec recharge and 1 sec firing time, costing 2 energy. Works very well when spreading conditions and is capable of good damage with support skills like [skill]Read the Wind[/skill], [skill]"I Am the Strongest!"[/skill], [skill]Asuran Scan[/skill] and the likes. And as IcyFiftyFive said, might be cool when using SY! or other prof's support spells.

Honestly, i like it more than barrage.

Unless they move it to Marksmanship, I don't see Anet making it do +damage. However, as noted, it had nothing about it that makes it 'elite'. Unblockable would help, as that would allow for conditions to be applied to any target, and only Choking Gas serves as a prep for interrupts, which will interrupt even if blocked. The 1 second activation time is the only thing that makes it decent, as Poison Arrow and Barrage both have 1 second recharge, and Crip Shot is at 2. All three of those provide other bonuses (conditions or damage).

And if you want to use an elite for a spike skills to follow an attack for fast damage, you are failing at doing good damage. Quickshot adds not extra damage, so unless packing a prep for damage, it serves no purpose as a spike skill. Savage Shot, Distracting Shot, Needling Shot, Precision Shot, Hunter's Shot, and Disrupting Shot all have that spike ability. Plus, those skills are not elites and provide +damage, interrupts, and/or conditions. Then you can take an elite that can be useful like Glass Arrows, Melandru's Shot, Burning Arrow, Broad Head Arrow, etc.

I'm in the group that sees this as a waste of a skill that has no place in the elite skill list.

well we're going back a long way now to nO in prophicies but they use to run a spike build similar to this:

[Savage shot][Quick shot][Dual Shot][Kindle Arrow][Conjure Flame][Glyph of Elemental power][Favorable winds][lightning reflexes]

Vamp Horn Bow.

This also was back when superior runes weren't frowned upon and you could get the right split between attributes. Since the change to conjure, not too sure how effective it still is but it did pour out a lot of dmg (always was cool to use dual shot and see 8 numbers spring up). Savage also didn't have a cast time or aftercast which could slow up the string of dmg. Probably still worth a test.

I'd be looking for stacking situations whether it's from a prep, secondary class or even from another toon (especially considering you mentioned PvE).

I remember things like this...no longer effective :P

Quick shot used to be a decent elite with a few nice builds for it waaaayy back in the day pre-NF pre-powercreep. It has since been left in the dust behind loads of buffs and functionality changes. Namely giving its 1 sec attack time ( which is really the only thing it had going for it ) to [hunters shot] and [penetrating attack]. Quick shot no longer has that edge over non elite attack skills and thus it is ignored for better skills. Hunters shot is now almost always better to put on your bar then Quick shot. The build you have here would be much stronger with [glass arrows] in for [kindle arrows] and hunters in for quick shot.

The only thing i would consider it for would be in conjunction with a preparation, using a flatbow - to lessen the arch time and hit more precisely.. [Read the wind] has the same effect as [quick shot] but counts as a preparation, so another prep could be used to better effect.

One more thing; try comparing [Quick Shot] with [Called Shot]. Does a slower recharge really justify the elite status? They really need to buff [[Quick Shot] if its going to live up to its elite status; either with +dmg or some other effect. Making it unblockable would be a start.

Or better yet, they could just switch the effects of those skills (but not the recharge though )

Make quickshot scale with marksmanship 1 marks = +1 damage 14 marks= +14 damage and make it unblockable.

Basically making it a better version of called shot just less gay.

as mentioned [quick shot] was used in old school turret builds, while ranger spikes usually used [punishing shot] another worthless elite that doesn't see play.

Punishing shot has also been left in the power creep dust. It used to be the only way to get a real spike after an attack skill, similar to how quickshot used to be the only 1 sec bow attack that allowed you to combo a -Bow Attack skill->1 sec Bow attack-1/2 bow attack- chain. This is no more.

The most effective thing I can think of would be something along the lines of this:

[Quick Shot] [Conjure Flame] or a different conjure [Kindle Arrows] [Asuran Scan] and ["I am the strongest!"] + a vamp bow. And take a hero with [Barbs] + [Mark of Pain] + [Splinter Weapon], and an orders nec.

But it would still be subpar.

I encountered an A/R in AB last night, he was using [Way of the Master] with [Disrupting Accuracy], and spamming [Quick Shot] at me. That was super annoying because he somehow managed to interrupt me with almost every single shot.

Thats a bit obvious, isnt it? Anyway, what I meant is that if you compare both of these skills, it doesnt seem to me that [[Quick Shot] deserves to be an elite. There are few benefits it has over [[Called Shot] besides a faster recharge and activation (tested >.>).

So, you can shoot QS twice for each use of CS, but is it really so much better? They should do something about it.

I guess it just isnt meant to be a superpowerful elite like some others.
